The NMC and Open Universities Australia have jointly released the 2014 NMC Technology Outlook for Australian Tertiary Education: A Horizon Project Regional Report at a media event in Victoria, Australia and a special session in Melbourne. This report applies the process developed for the NMC Horizon Project, with a focus on identifying and describing emerging technologies likely to have an impact on teaching, learning, and creative inquiry in tertiary institutions across Australia.

The NMC and EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI) jointly released the NMC Horizon Report > 2014 Higher Education Edition at a special session at the ELI Annual Meeting 2014. This eleventh edition describes annual findings from the NMC Horizon Project, an ongoing research project designed to identify and describe emerging technologies likely to have an impact on learning, teaching, and creative inquiry in education.

The 2014 Horizon Project Higher Education Advisory Board has just concluded their voting and the results are in! We now have the official list of six "Important Developments in Educational Technology" that will appear in the upcoming NMC Horizon Report > 2014 Higher Education Edition, as showcased in the official Preview PDF. This project is a collaborative effort between the NMC and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI).

Welcome NMC Contributing Editors!

After reviewing a flurry of applications, the NMC is pleased to announce our team of Contributing Editors for the remainder of 2013 and through 2014. NMC Contributing Editors are education thought leaders who represent multiple learning sectors. They are responsible for developing NMC.org blog posts that cover a wide range of edtech topics. These blog posts are written from an identifiable angle to make complex subjects -- such as online learning, the Internet of Things, and learning analytics -- more approachable.
